Love on the Love Boat

Well hello Travel Start family. I am so excited to share this with you. Princess cruise lines wants to break the record for the most Vow Renewed at one time. So, On Valentines day 2020 on 2 of there Luxury Vessels the Royal and the Regal Princess They are offering a complementary vow renewal for guests currently aboard either of the ships. Good new for the romantic at heart. Get yourself and your loved out to to sea, book a group and invite guests (of course just like everyone else they would have to pay to sail onboard the ship) (what a great excuse for some much needed R&R) and surprise you honey. Or Don’t surprise your honey and plan it together. What ever you choose wouldn’t it be awesome to reaffirm your love and maybe have you friends reaffirm their love on the same day and have cost not be the driving factor (outside of cruise fare)? The actual ceremony will be held on February 11 2020 but takes place on the Valentines Day sailing on both ships.

The Guinness book of world records will be there, as will several special guests. I couldn’t be more excited about this event. The Royal Princess is a 5 day sailing and will be sailing to Cobo San Lucas out of the port of long beach and the regal Princess will be a 7 days sailing and will be sailing to the Western Caribbean out of Fort Lauderdale Fl.

Carnival Panorama Naming Ceremony

Heya Travel Start family.

So, last month I was invited to attend the Carnival Panorama naming ceremony. I was so Excited As you may or may not know there are less ships on the west coast than on the east coast…and we (west coasters) have been waiting for a new ship for quite some time. You can imagine my zeal getting this special invitation. I informed my husband “Babe i was invited to the naming ceremony aboard the Panorama and I want to go.”He agreed and a rental car was booked. I was even able to take a guest along with me. So I invited my mother. She has been having a rough time and I was so thrilled I could take her some where that helped her to forget those challenges and enjoy herself.

As my fortune would have it I got hurt at work the Friday before the ceremony. So I ended up on pain meds, in a brace and had a cane at the ready just in case. But the show must go on and so with frequent breaks and more sitting than I would have liked, I enjoyed Carnival’s generosity with a mean gangster lean lol.

The ship is decked out in that island style that meets a club in little Havana, a meal on Fifth avenue, and a Theater to see amazing Broadway shows mixed with extraordinary an light and laser show. There are water slides, and suites, food everywhere, a casino, sky zone, and spa. It’s as Coming in at 133,000 gross tons and a staff compliment of 1,450 (plus a few more) to spoil her guests rotten it’s as though Mrs.Vanna White waved her fairy godmother wand and said “bippity, bobbiti, boo!” and Voila! The Panorama was birthed. And to top it off, Chef’s Emil Lagasse, Guy Feiri, and Rudi Sodiman stopped in to celebrate her arrival. The only person Missing was Carnival’s CfO (Chief Fun Officer) Shaq.

The food was lovely from lamb poppers

To Prosciutto

To Pulled port Sliders

To the Drinks

Did I mention Dinner?

appetizers Lobster Bisque and Emeril’s shirmp

Oh, and desert

Desert Number 2

Let’s just Say We Where Fed well.

What’s a night out missing? Hmmmmm A purpose? Check to be spoiled. Drinks? Check! Food? Check, Check, Check! How about a Show? hmmmmmmm That’s it!

What a Night! But Wait!!!! How about something spectacular?

Oh Yes there where Fireworks!

After all that I decided to film some of our adventure. So for your viewing pleasure this is part 1 of the naming ceremony. There is more to come. Vlog time!

Did I mention there was a Carnival Blimp?

You heard them. Choose Fun!

As always I hope you enjoy the video and I will see you on the next video.

Royal Cruise Lines is Opening Over the Water Cabana’s

Hello Travel Start and welcome to a new blog post. So I was reading as saw that Royal Caribbean is opening over the water cabana’s. We all love those video’s and picture of the quaint but well appoint over the water bungalows. Several travel vendors have them in there arsenal. So why go to Royal Caribbeans version? Well, for starters they are only available at a Perfect Day at CocoCay. So In order to use these gems you must be sailing with Royal Caribbean at an itinerary that is sailing to the Cay. Also, they are a cabana not a bungalow that you stay in for a multiple days. These instead of being in the sand are on the shore line the lay slightly further out on the coast and sit higher up for an amazing view. There will be 20 floating cabana’s and 10 beach cabana’s located at the new Coco Beach Club. the later mention may have a water slide for you to enjoy. Also, there such a thing as to much sun. When you need a reprieve these over the water cabanas are a great choice to get some shade, order a drink or 3, read a book, get a message or what ever your heart desires (in compliance with Royal Caribbean terms of use) and relax your day away. Still not sold. There is also a 2,626sqft club house for your enjoyment. I also wouldn’t mind having a place for the family to met at. the kids always know that mom and dad are at the cabana, or if your trying an excursion perhaps everyone meets back at the cabana at 12 for lunch ect. There really are so many way to enjoy these luxury cabana’s.

Are you ready to book one? Great! Pricing for the Coco Beach Club vary by season, but bookings for Floating Cabanas begin at $999, or $699 for Beach Cabanas. But they are not quite done building them. The grand opening is January 31 2020 and I believe that they will be sold out well before that time.
